Tigran Ulihanian Resigns from Mandate, Set to Take on New Position

Deputy of the National Assembly's "My Step" faction, Tigran Ulihanian, is set to resign from his mandate in the coming days. According to information from "Haykakan Zhamanak," he is expected to be appointed as the Deputy Head of the State Oversight Service and also serve as the acting head of the agency.

In a conversation with us, the deputy declined to comment on the reports regarding his resignation and the transition to another position.

It is known that the head of the State Oversight Service remains Davit Sanasaryan, but his powers have been suspended due to a criminal case.

Prior to this, Argishti Karamyan held the position of Deputy Head of the State Oversight Service and was also serving as acting head, but he was relieved of his duties on May 4 of this year, having been appointed Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee and later Director of the National Security Service. Since then, the State Oversight Service has effectively been without leadership.

Notably, Ulihanian served as the Deputy Head of the State Oversight Service from May 2018 to January 2019. The State Oversight Service is an agency that operates under the Prime Minister and conducts inspections across various entities.
