The Campaign Against the Prosperous Armenia Party Gains New Momentum
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "Alongside the election bribery case opened against the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, law enforcement continues to investigate the past of nearly all current and former MPs of the party. Almost all regional offices of the Prosperous Armenia Party, as well as the residences of some members, have been searched, and law enforcement is still reaching out to supporters and voters of the party from the regions, summoning them for questioning in order to compile an accusatory conclusion to submit to the court.
One of the MPs from the Prosperous Armenia Party joked in a conversation with us that for the past two months they have been "working as receptionists," preoccupied only with responding to calls from their voters. These voters have been reaching out to convey that law enforcement is probing them with inquiries, seeking desired answers.
They are not even sparing former members of the Prosperous Armenia Party or those who have distanced themselves from it. Yesterday, we learned that the Office of the Prosecutor General has submitted a Supreme Court appeal against the decision of the appellate court concerning Abraham Manukyan’s case. The appellate court had overturned the initial decision to detain the former MP on July 9. Abraham Manukyan is also accused of organizing bribery for voters."
