Main Phase of 'Caucasus-2020' Exercises Completed: Defense Ministry Spokesperson

The main phase of the multinational strategic command-staff exercises 'Caucasus-2020' has concluded at the Russian 'Kapustin Yar' training ground. The Minister of Defense of Armenia, David Tonoyan, monitored the exercises. This was reported by the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, on her Facebook page.

“As a result of the counter-offensive, the units of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Armenia dealt a significant blow to the fictitious enemy. Advancing from the depth, the units transitioned to a counter-offensive, destroying the entrenched enemy. Subsequently, continuing the assault, they secured advantageous terrain. The ground forces received fire support from Mi-28N helicopters and Su-25 attack aircraft,” she wrote.

“The Armenian Armed Forces' tank and motorized rifle units were involved in the 'Caucasus-2020' multinational strategic command-staff exercises at the 'Kapustin Yar' training ground. Simultaneously, the live-fire phase of the 'Caucasus-2020' exercises was also ongoing in Armenia at the 'Alagyaz' training ground,” she added.
