After the conclusion of the CPP meeting, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia responded to reporters’ questions regarding various recent speculations about the whereabouts of Mikayel Minasyan. According to some information, Minasyan is in Sochi, with even a hotel address being mentioned. In this case, how is it that Mikayel Minasyan is still at large?

Alen Simonyan stated, “What do you mean, if we know his place, do you think we should go and steal him? That’s a legal process. Even if the address and phone number are known, the country has to arrest him and hand him over to Armenia. A decision regarding the arrest was made two days ago, and I have no information that our colleagues have applied or that we have received a rejection. If an arrest decision is made, a process already begins through diplomatic channels. A similar action occurred in the case of our fellow citizen, who was returned. I am talking about Lyovik from Alraghatz.”
