Is the Deputy Minister of Education Resigning? Disagreements with the Minister Persist
Reports have surfaced in the media regarding the resignation of Grisha Tamrazyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. According to publications, the reasons cited include educational standards and a perceived contradiction to national values, which have strained the relationship between the deputy minister and the minister. Furthermore, disagreements reportedly began back when Arevik Anapiosyan was also a deputy minister.
Auroranews is currently seeking to confirm the authenticity of this news with the Ministry. We are awaiting their response.
It is worth mentioning that protests demanding the resignation of Minister Arayik Harutyunyan have been ongoing for a considerable time. The reason behind these protests is the planned reduction of Armenian language classes in schools, the discontinuation of the separate subject of “History of the Armenian Church,” and concerns over certain points related to sexual education. Additionally, some works by medieval Armenian authors are set to be removed from the literature curriculum, to be replaced by works by contemporary Armenian authors that are considered controversial.
