If Tsarukyan is Detained, His Son's Wedding Will Be Postponed. "Hraparak"
According to the "Hraparak" newspaper, the hearing on the detention of Gagik Tsarukyan at the Central residence of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction commenced yesterday but was postponed. The lawyers argued that they were not properly notified. The presiding judge, Mnatsakan Martirosyan, has scheduled the next court session for September 25.
Tsarukyan's legal team is preparing to submit a motion for the judge's self-removal. They claim to have numerous grounds for this, the main one being that this session could have taken place at least a week ago, but the preliminary investigation body has done everything to ensure that the hearing on the sanction coincides with the duty of Mnatsakan Martirosyan.
Our sources report that the deputy head of the National Security Service, Mikayel Hamparsumyan, is personally working with the loyal judge Matzoy. Additionally, an unusual fact has emerged; the notification for Gagik Tsarukyan's participation in the session on the 25th was not delivered by the police but rather by the NSS employees, who handed it over to Tsarukyan personally in Arinj.
This indicates that the issue of securing the sessions is being transparently carried out by the preliminary investigation body. However, those close to Tsarukyan assert that the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party is not afraid of detention, provided it occurs after his son's wedding on October 3.
Yesterday, while the court was considering the issue of Tsarukyan's detention, he visited Gerghard. When his associates called to inform him that the session had been postponed, he mentioned that he had dreamed he needed to go to Gerghard to light a candle. Incidentally, if the sanction for detention is granted, the wedding will likely be postponed.
