Azerbaijani Media Claims Readiness for War: Karen Hovannisyan

Expert on Turkish-Kurdish issues Karen Hovannisyan wrote on his Facebook page: “The psychological and informational warfare continues. Azerbaijan, in addition to throwing fake news into the information space and referring to them to make 'analyses', has started a psychological offensive, no more, no less, on its own citizens. Let me highlight a few points.

The media are disseminating videos that have a greater psychological impact, showing how residents are building shelters in border villages. Until now, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense consistently used some music in the videos it distributed on its official website; it was never the case that the videos of shelling were without any music, meaning they muted the sounds of the shells. Now, in order to create an imitation of war, they are showing shelling sounds live, without any commentary or 'disruptive' sounds.

The Azerbaijani media, regardless of political views, assert unanimously that they are preparing for war. If you were to follow the media space exclusively, you might get the impression that battles are ongoing. In short, they are driving their own citizens into a psychologically heavy and tense state.”
