A New Bridge to be Constructed over the Debed River at the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen Border Crossing

The government has adopted a decision to regulate the construction process of a new bridge over the Debed River at the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen border crossing between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia. This includes the establishment of an intergovernmental temporary expert commission to conduct a comprehensive examination of the project documentation.

As a result, the construction process of the new bridge over the Debed River will be comprehensively regulated. Another decision has recognized the necessary areas for the bridge construction as being in the public interest.

The project documentation has already been prepared, which indicates that the construction of the bridge will affect certain portions of three parcels of community-owned land located in the Bagratashen community of Armenia's Tavush Province. The deadline for initiating the expropriation process of the affected land parcels is proposed to be set for December 25, 2020.

Furthermore, by the government’s decision, the company “Starmed” LLC has been granted customs duty exemption under the investment program implemented in the priority sector. The imported goods will be used for the production of medical three-layer face masks.
