There Was a Risk of Armed Resistance and a Second Genocide on April 24, 2018, Says V. Baghdasaryan
The member of the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia and MP Vahram Baghdasaryan shared details during an interview on '168 Hours', stating that significant actions were anticipated on April 24, 2018, which did not occur. 'It turned out that there were quite serious events expected on April 24, the day of remembrance of the Armenian Genocide. Can you imagine hundreds of thousands of people heading to the memorial, which could have been turned around through provocateurs towards a regime change? The head of state was supposed to perform his constitutional duty at that moment, leaving only armed resistance as an option. A correct decision was made to announce on April 23 that the public should calm down, so April 24 would not turn into a second genocide. That threat was indeed real. The decision was sound, and we suffered no casualties,' said V. Baghdasaryan.
