Hearing on the Arrest of Gagik Tsarukyan Postponed by NSS Investigator
The hearing on the National Security Service (NSS) investigator's motion to arrest Gagik Tsarukyan, which began today at 11:00 AM at the Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan's Center, has been postponed. Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan has scheduled the next court session for September 25 at 10:00 AM. This information was provided by the Public Relations Service of the Judicial Authority.
The reason for the postponement was the absence of the accused G. Tsarukyan and his defenders, despite the fact that court notifications were sent to G. Tsarukyan and his lawyers on September 17 and 18, including an email sent to Mr. Tsarukyan's official email address as a deputy in the National Assembly. Additionally, additional information about the date and time of the hearing was communicated via phone, and information was also shared through the Viber application, which confirmed receipt of the message.
On September 22, the court staff reminded the defense about today's hearing during a phone conversation with the lawyer.
During today's session that started at 11:00 AM, the participants present in court requested the court to proceed with the hearing in the absence of the accused and his defenders. However, considering the importance of the matter, the court decided to postpone the hearing until September 25, to notify the defense once again.
