Controversial Judge and Tsarukyan's Case

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "At 11:00 AM today, the Center sitting of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction will hear the National Security Service investigator's petition to detain the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan. Given that the case will be presided over by Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan, who obediently grants detention orders for everyone, we can predict that our information about the potential detention of Gagik Tsarukyan may indeed materialize.

Martirosyan has a reputation for executing the government's orders in politically charged cases. He became more widely known following the events of March 1, when he presided over the investigation of the '7-case', and subsequently in the cases involving Nikol Pashinyan and HAK activists, where he issued guilty verdicts in all instances.

Martirosyan also made the detention decision for Manel Grigoryan and sentenced one of Robert Kocharian's supporters to three years in prison. At one time, he released Kocharian's bodyguard, Kuku, from serving his sentence by imposing a symbolic conditional sentence related to the murder case that took place at the "Aragast" café."
