VIDEO: 'I Thought Long About Whether to Respond to Robert Kocharyan or Not' - Arayik Harutyunyan

“I have thought long about whether to respond to the first president of Artsakh and the second president of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, or not,” stated the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, during a broadcast on Public Television, referring to Kocharyan's statement that he is subject to official Yerevan.

“First of all, I dream of being subordinate to the leadership of Armenia when Artsakh becomes part of Armenia; that is the dream of all of us. However, there is still a long way to go to achieve that. No one should doubt our partnership and dignified relations, and these relations contribute to the security systems of both Artsakh and Armenia as well as to socio-economic development,” said the Artsakh president. He emphasized that perhaps when Kocharyan mentioned being subordinate, he meant that Harutyunyan has met with the Prime Minister of Armenia more often during his first 100 days in office than any president of Artsakh has met with any president of Armenia during their five years in office.
