There is Public Discontent and These Three Political Forces Provide an Opportunity to Make That Voice Heard: Iveta Tonoyan
Minutes later, an extraordinary session of the fifth session of the seventh convocation of the National Assembly will begin. However, prior to that, a press briefing was held by representatives of parliamentary factions.
Members of the "Prosperous Armenia" faction informed journalists that together with the "Homeland" and "Armenian Revolutionary Federation" parties, they are inviting a nationwide rally on October 8 at Freedom Square.
MP Iveta Tonoyan noted that the "Prosperous Armenia" party has been effectively cooperating with these two political forces for several months. "We will announce the agenda for the rally soon; at this moment, we acknowledge that there is significant public discontent, and these three political forces provide an opportunity to make that voice heard," Tonoyan said.
During the press briefing, Iveta Tonoyan and Arman Abovyan removed their masks. MP Arman Abovyan, commenting on the President of Azerbaijan's statement, noted that not only Aliyev but also the foreign ministers and military leadership of Azerbaijan and Turkey are conducting preparatory information work, indicating a possible new military provocation.
"The statements we hear these days are worrisome and may seem absurd to us. They are clearly moving forward with that preparatory mentality," Abovyan said. He recalled the Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises in August, when a large number of weapons and soldiers were stationed in the territory of Nakhchivan, and no soldier or weapon has been withdrawn to this day.
