The Governor of Aragatsotn Province Infected with Coronavirus

The Governor of Aragatsotn Province, David Gevorgyan, announced on his Facebook page that he tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing certain symptoms on September 17. The following day, September 18, he underwent a second test, which also returned a positive result.

After undergoing further examinations, he was diagnosed with bilateral developing pneumonia with certain complications in his health condition. Following medical advice, he is required to continue treatment under medical supervision. Since September 18, he has been receiving hospital treatment.

In his statement, Gevorgyan expressed gratitude to the contemporary heroes—doctors, all healthcare workers, and hospital staff—who, through their professional work and human warmth, do their utmost to ensure all patients recover as soon as possible.

He also informed that during his absence, the deputy governor Harutyun Gulyan will take over his responsibilities. He urged everyone to seriously adhere to the established anti-epidemic safety rules and to be more vigilant and cautious. He wished everyone good health.
