Tragic Accident on Yerevan-Gyumri Highway: 2 Dead, 7 Injured
On September 20, a tragic incident occurred on the notorious segment of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, an area often referred to as 'deadly' by the public. This has been reported by shamshyan.com.
At approximately 21:40, two vehicles, a Mercedes and a VAZ-2106, collided at the 51st kilometer mark of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. As a result of the crash, two individuals lost their lives at the scene, while seven others suffered injuries and were transported to the Talin Medical Center.
The deceased were extricated from the vehicle by firefighters from the Emergency Situations Ministry's Aragatsotn regional rescue department. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 242, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The police and the investigative department are working to determine the identities of the deceased, the injured, and the drivers involved. Witnesses at the scene stated that the deceased were a married couple.
