There Have Always Been Such Things and There Will Be in All Countries: Aalen Simonyan on Agents
What was published was not news, because this has been discussed in various places. This was stated today, September 21, by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, in a conversation with reporters, commenting on the analysis by the Russian 'Dosye' center that claims Russia has agents in almost all state institutions of Armenia.
It is noteworthy that the publication also mentions the names of former directors of the National Security Service, Karen Petrosyan, Georgi Kutoyan, and Arthur Vanetsyan.
'Long live the Republic of Armenia as an independent country, where no center, except for the Armenian people, can have any leverage,' said the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
When asked if he considers it possible that the directors of the National Security Service could have been agents, Simonyan replied, 'I think it is a good opportunity for an investigation to take place, to understand who that individual is, who has allowed themselves to engage in espionage against the Republic of Armenia.'
According to Alen Simonyan, there have always been agents throughout different periods: 'And unfortunately, there will still be in all countries.'
Commenting on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's statement that Armenia is preparing for war, Simonyan said, 'I see a pathetic individual who, in trying to maintain his power, is ready for anything.'
