France and Armenia Can Be Proud of Their Historical Ties: Emmanuel Macron
The President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, has received a congratulatory message from the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on the occasion of Armenia's Independence Day.
The message states: "Mr. President, dear friend, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, I extend my warmest congratulations to you on behalf of myself and the French people. France and Armenia can be proud of their historical ties, rich relationships based on shared memory and common vision. These special bonds are a treasure that we are obliged to develop more than ever. They make us stronger in facing the challenges that our countries confront.
I want to assure you that France is determined to support Armenia in the courageous reforms that the Armenian government has initiated since 2018. France stands by your side to contribute to the new rise of your economy, as well as to assist Armenia in implementing long-term concrete programs in the health sector and combating the effects of climate change.
Like never before, all stakeholders in our bilateral relations are ready to support reforms and participate in economic growth. Despite the constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I express satisfaction with our recent achievements in academic, educational, and cultural cooperation.
Taking this opportunity, I want to emphasize that France, as a co-chair of the Minsk Group, will spare no effort to achieve the rapid resumption of negotiations between the parties, hoping for a peaceful and lasting resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Please accept, Mr. President, the assurance of my highest respect."
