4 Major Generals, 1 Lieutenant General. The President Awards Military Ranks

The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has signed a decree on awarding military ranks. According to the presidential decree, Colonel Armen Lalayan has been awarded the military rank of Major General.

“Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with part 2 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as point 1 of part 1 of Article 16 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, Colonel Armen Ivanovich LALAYAN, Military Attaché of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation, has been awarded the military rank of Major General,” the presidential decree states.

Another decree has awarded the rank of Major General to Colonel Mher Shirinyan. “Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with part 2 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as point 1 of part 1 of Article 16 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, Colonel Mher Armo Shirinyan, representative of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Armenia to the Collective Security Treaty Organization, has been awarded the military rank of Major General,” the decree notes.

Major General rank has also been awarded to Colonel Albert Baghdasaryan. “Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with part 2 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as point 1 of part 1 of Article 16 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, Colonel Albert Razmik Baghdasaryan, Head of the Main Personnel Management Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, has been awarded the military rank of Major General,” the text of the decree states.

Colonel Romik Margaryan has also been awarded the rank of Major General by the presidential decree. “Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with part 2 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as point 1 of part 1 of Article 16 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, Colonel Romik Poghos Margaryan, Head of the Rear Services of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, has been awarded the military rank of Major General,” the decree points out.

Armen Sarkissian has also signed a decree awarding the military rank of Lieutenant General to Major General Kamo Kochunts. “Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with part 2 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as point 1 of part 1 of Article 16 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, Major General Kamo Grigori Kochunts, Deputy Director of the Military Inspection Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, has been awarded the military rank of Lieutenant General,” the decree concludes.
