The Location of the Artsakh National Assembly Will Move from Stepanakert to the Fortress City of Shushi

The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, made the following post on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, in 2022, the location of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh will be moved from the capital, Stepanakert, to the fortress city of Shushi. I am pleased that in response to my proposal voiced from the podium of the Parliament weeks ago, I have already received positive feedback from the ‘Free Homeland-KMD’ and ‘Justice’ factions. I believe that the other factions of the National Assembly will also join the position of their colleagues.

During my working visit to Shushi, we discussed the possibility of allocating the unfinished building, which was started for the court, to the Parliament. According to my directive, construction works will resume soon. I believe that this decision has both political and practical significance, as well as a symbolic meaning in re-evaluating our historic and victorious city in its own way."
