The Real Danger is Not in Following Rules, but in the Inability to Attend School Due to Not Following Them: Zhanna Andreasian

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasian wrote on her Facebook page: "Dear parents, I am addressing you because I know how much you worry about your children, rejoice in every step they take, and become anxious over every issue.

I speak as a parent who also has a child under 12 who attends a regular public school, wearing a mask three days a week, sanitizing hands, and following the rules. I know that last spring many of you saw the problems along with the benefits of remote education, just as I did—not as an official but as a parent. You understood how important it is to attend school and participate in in-person education.

I am sure you also realize that the shift to total remote education is forming a significant gap in our children's development, which will require substantial effort to bridge—without guaranteed results.

Attending school is the crucial challenge of today. It is the challenge of all of us. Because in the end, it is our children who will suffer. In ways we cannot even begin to foresee. And the impact on public development will undoubtedly be felt for a long time and in many dimensions.

Dear parents, we are not only accustomed to saying that education is important, but education truly matters for all of us. Let us adhere to the rules so that we can go to school. This is my only appeal and request. The real danger lies not in following the rules but in the inability to attend school as a result of not following them."
