Gagik Tsarukyan Makes a Facebook Post
The leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan, has made a post on his Facebook page stating:
"No matter how great the desire of certain circles or individuals is to draw me into low-level discourse, I will not do so, as I am inclined to use my time and resources more effectively. Our country faces urgent problems that need to be solved immediately:
- During the state of emergency and quarantine, a loan forgiveness program must be implemented. In conditions of widespread inactivity, the population is struggling to solve their daily bread issue, and it is inhumane to demand them to pay interest on loans.
- It is necessary to address the issue of applicants who did not qualify for universities with high scores as soon as possible. It is unacceptable to deny high-achieving young people the opportunity to receive an education.
- It is unacceptable to raise tuition fees during an economic crisis and a state of emergency. If necessary, the state must take on the financial burden of subsidies.
- It is unacceptable to increase the tax burden on small and medium-sized businesses during a state of emergency.
- The relevant authorities must address the issue of our compatriots wishing to travel to the Russian Federation as soon as possible.
- The whole world is preparing for a second wave of pandemic spread. The authorities are obliged to carry out preparatory work to ensure that the situation of March does not repeat itself, when, due to delayed decisions, we had over 1,000 deaths.
- The state is responsible for ensuring the proper organization of the recovery process and necessary research for our compatriots infected with the coronavirus and receiving treatment at home.
These are the priorities that must be addressed by the authorities immediately. I voice the necessity of these steps for one simple reason: the political forces and individuals leading the country are always changing, and what matters is addressing the people's problems in a timely manner and facing the challenges confronting the state. My heart truly aches that the problems faced by our people are increasing daily due to the authorities' empty rhetoric and inactivity...”
