In the past month, there have been fewer than 200 daily cases of coronavirus, but in the last two days, the number of cases has significantly increased to beyond 200. The previous day counted 257, and yesterday 295. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting on September 17.

“Indeed, the number of tests is high; yesterday we conducted 4319 tests, and the day before that, 4135. It is worth noting that during the most difficult period, the daily number of tests did not reach 3000. Nevertheless, the trend is concerning,” the Prime Minister said, adding that for the first time since March, he noticed traffic congestion, likely related to the reopening of schools.

The Prime Minister emphasized that during this period, there is one proven tool in the fight against coronavirus, which is wearing a mask. “No police officer should pass by any citizen without a mask indifferently. Naturally, the rule of law, the dignity, and the rights of citizens must be fully preserved. A mask is not meant to cover just the chin but the nose and mouth, as the virus is transmitted through respiratory pathways. When I see what is happening in other countries, I am increasingly convinced that our strategy of learning to live with the coronavirus is the right path,” he added.
