VIDEO: Iveta Tonoyan on Araik Harutyunyan and Discussions about Transgender Individuals
Today, on September 17th, during a session of the National Assembly, BHK MP Iveta Tonoyan responded to the statements made by Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Araik Harutyunyan yesterday, who spoke about some allegations of rape (it is presumed that this is related to the well-known case of Gagik Tsarukyan).
Tonoyan emphasized that the BHK faction considers the concluding part of Araik Harutyunyan's speech inappropriate, as well as the subsequent positive assessments: "We positively assess not only as incorrect but as crossing the boundaries of decency. Regarding Mr. Harutyunyan, we reiterate that we do not see the expediency of his further tenure, because a minister who has focused exclusively on discussions with various transgender individuals does not understand the nuances of education, science, culture, or sports, nor the history of the Armenian Church when he suggests removing the subject from the curriculum," she said.
