Mikhail Efremov Proposes to Establish Russian Prison Theater
The actor Mikhail Efremov, who has been sentenced for a fatal accident, wishes to create a Russian prison theater. This was reported by Alexei Melnikov, the official secretary of the Public Oversight Commission.
“Efremov announced the necessity of establishing a Russian prison theater during a meeting with the Public Oversight Commission today,” Melnikov stated on his Telegram channel.
According to him, “Efremov has no complaints and is in a normal state of mind. He has creative new projects in mind.” Melnikov noted that a Russian prison theater could unite theatrical studios from various penal colonies, allowing inmates to express themselves creatively.
It’s important to recall that the Presnensky Court in Moscow has sentenced Mikhail Efremov to 8 years in prison. According to the investigation, the actor was intoxicated while driving, veered into oncoming traffic, and collided with a 'Lada' vehicle. The driver of the second car died as a result.
