Belarus to Close Borders with Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine

We are forced to withdraw troops from the streets, place half of the army on the border, and close the state border of Belarus to the west with Lithuania and Poland. This was announced by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Lukashenko stated that he is compelled to close the state border of Belarus. Note that for the first time in 25 years, President Alexander Lukashenko has put the army on full combat readiness. During a visit to one of the military units, the Belarusian leader declared that the scenario of color revolutions is being employed in Belarus.

“We see serious movements of NATO troops in the immediate vicinity of our borders—in the territories of Poland and Lithuania,” Lukashenko stated. The North Atlantic Alliance has categorically denied Lukashenko’s claims, labeling them as unfounded. “As we have already made clear before, NATO poses no threat to Belarus or any other country,” said NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu.
