Video: Fire at Nubarashen Landfill Ignited 6 Days Ago Still Angry, Burning 4.5 Hectares
The firefighting units of the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Yerevan Rescue Department, alongside two water trucks from the city municipality and one tractor, are taking turns conducting firefighting operations on the scene. One fire outbreak has been extinguished, and currently, accumulated waste is burning over an area of approximately 3,000 square meters.
It should be noted that on September 10 at 08:19, the National Crisis Management Center received a call reporting that a fire had broken out at the Nubarashen landfill in Yerevan. Three firefighting units from the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Yerevan Rescue Department and an operational group from the Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Operations Organization department were dispatched to the location. Subsequently, a complexity call of "1-BIS" was announced, and an additional firefighting unit from the Yerevan Rescue Department was sent to the site.
According to preliminary data, fires at various hotspots are occurring over an area of about 4.5 hectares, where accumulated waste is burning. Five water trucks and one tractor from the municipality have participated in the firefighting efforts. Firefighters have carried out demolition and extinguishing operations over a total area of approximately 4.5 hectares, using 237 tons of water.
