Video Warning: Toxic Methanol Turns into Alcohol Gel, Enters Market

Experts warn that toxic methanol has been used to create alcohol gel, which has entered the market. Methanol is a potent poison for which there is no antidote.

Irina Malkhasyan, head of the clinic at Heratsi Medical Center, explained in an interview with YerevanToday’s correspondent, "We do not have precise information on how many people have been affected because mild poisoning can be accompanied by muscle pain and irreversible visual impairment. Such patients may not seek hospital treatment. In severe cases of poisoning, cardiac arrest and irreversible blindness can occur."

According to her, even alcohol gels have been produced from this toxic substance.
