VIDEO: I started gardening in Akna by pledging my modest assets in the bank, says Artsakh president

Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan has posted a video on his Facebook page, stating: "Dear compatriots, in 1997, when the authorities of the time were discussing resolving the Artsakh issue through territorial concessions, I was one of the few who, by pledging my modest assets in the bank, started gardening in Akna (formerly Aghdam). On one occasion, I said, and I will repeat, that this was my unique response as a 24-year-old who went through the chaos of war… Yes, Akna is our homeland, just like Stepanakert, Shushi, Berdzor, Tigranakert, or Karvachar. And I voice this statement on behalf of all Armenians from my garden in Akna, which with its lush greenery not only testifies to the results of my years of struggle with the land, but also serves as an important example for many of our fellow countrymen who, with government support, should turn the entire Akna into a large garden in the coming years. This is our agenda for today, and we have already started taking practical steps to follow it. Let's get to work!"
