What Restrictions Will Be Imposed in Prisons, Military, and Psychiatric Institutions During Quarantine
The Republic of Armenia, as previously reported, imposed quarantine measures from September 11, 2020, to January 11, 2021. According to this decision, specific restrictions have been established for certain institutions.
Accordingly, in penitentiary institutions, long-term visits are permitted exclusively in the absence of active cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and if the visitor presents a negative result from a PCR test taken within the last 72 hours.
In long-term care facilities and psychiatric organizations, visits are allowed only in the absence of active cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and provided that sanitary and epidemiological safety rules are followed.
In the military units of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the following are prohibited:
- Visits (with the exception of circumstances where video calls are utilized),
- The release and leaves of conscripts and junior officers (with the exception of cases of death of family members (wife, child, father, mother, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather) as provided by the second subsection of Article 28, part 6 of the Law on Military Service and Status of Military Personnel).
