Video: Ashtarak Police Discover Large Amount of Drugs

Officers from the Ashtarak Police Department received information that a 55-year-old resident of Proshyan Street in the city of Ashtarak was illegally growing, storing, and using drugs in his backyard.

After verifying the authenticity of the received information, officers from the Criminal Police main department, the fight against illegal drug trafficking, and the regional departments of Aragatsotn, along with Ashtarak officers, searched the backyard of the specified house.

They discovered approximately 1,300 grams of dried, crushed, cannabis-like substance in four aluminum and metal containers. Additionally, the police uprooted 550 cannabis plants.

Simultaneously, the homeowner presented to law enforcement 13 glass and 2 metal containers containing around 1,500 grams of plant material from the living room. According to the homeowner, the discovered substance is cannabis, which he claimed to have grown and processed for his own use.

The 55-year-old man has been detained by the Ashtarak Police. An examination has been appointed, and investigations are ongoing. Materials related to the incident are being prepared.
