Special Operation in the Capital: A Group of Young People Found in Possession of 'Makarov' and 'Walter' Type Pistols
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on September 10, during the processing of operational information received by the criminal investigation department of the Yerevan city police, a case of seizure of weapons and ammunition occurred in Yerevan. Two individuals were apprehended by the police on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of firearms on Heratsi Street.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the individuals are 36-year-old Arthur G. from Hasratyan Street and 36-year-old Zare B. from Kristapori Street. The latter was driving a Ford Mustang, where special knives were discovered. Zare B. presented one pistol from the trunk and cabin of the Ford Mustang and also produced two handguns from his handbag: a 'Makarov' type gas pistol with a magazine containing 14 rounds.
According to the photojournalist, similar operations were conducted by officers of the Mashtots police department, who apprehended 30-year-old Artyom H. from the Norashen neighborhood on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of a weapon on Fuchiki Street. A personal search revealed a 'Walter 88' type pistol in his bag.
On the same day, Mashtots police apprehended 31-year-old Abgar G. from Bagratuniants Street on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of a weapon. A personal search revealed a 'Makarov' type air pistol in his bag. The seized firearms were confiscated by the investigator, and a forensic examination has been appointed.
