Marukyan Appeals to the Head of the PSC Regarding the Dismissal of Numerous Employees of Gazprom Armenia

Edmon Marukyan, a member of the National Assembly representing the Bright Armenia faction, wrote on his Facebook page: "Many employees of Gazprom Armenia LLC are being dismissed... Dear citizens, I would like to inform you that yesterday at noon, I appealed to the President of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, Garegin Baghramyan, regarding the following issue. According to the information we received, numerous employees of Gazprom Armenia LLC (essentially inspectors and others) are being laid off, whereas recently, the salaries of the same company's employees were reduced by 20%.

It is unclear what has caused such large-scale staff and salary reductions, but it is evident that in the current difficult social conditions, the most negative consequences of such dismissals will primarily be borne by the families of those affected, and subsequently, by the state. I have requested the chairman of the commission to conduct an investigation to clarify the reasons for the aforementioned staff and salary reductions and the legality of the process. I will publish the response on my official page as soon as I receive it," the lawmaker wrote.
