More Than 30 Businesses Suspended Following AATC Inspections

More than 30 businesses are included in the list of suspensions by the AATC dated September 10, based primarily on violations of safety regulations noted during the enforcement body's intensified inspections. This information was provided in a statement by the Government of Armenia.

“In the context of sharply decreased suspensions, this is the highest number of suspensions in recent times. Among those suspended is the 'Alexandrapol Hotel Palace' in Gyumri, as businesses involved in hotel operations have been under the scrutiny of AATC specialists during the summer vacation period,” the statement highlighted.

Activities of several businesses have also been temporarily suspended in the regions, including retail points, dental clinics, and pharmacies. In the capital, a temporary ban has been imposed on more than ten businesses, including chain branches of major supermarkets, such as the 'Evrika' supermarket, which received alerts via the AATC hotline regarding potential violations.

The suspensions in Yerevan followed a simultaneous and intensified inspection conducted across the capital that revealed discrepancies from epidemic regulations, specifically regarding the formats of temperature measurement and disinfection logs, as well as in some cases, their absence. The requirements for having closed trash bins and wearing masks were not maintained, and there were also instances where disinfection was improperly executed.

Notably, a significant number of hair salons and beauty parlors have been among the businesses subject to suspension, both in the regions and in Yerevan. Alongside the suspensions, the AATC has been continuously monitoring the “Artashat Stomatology” LLC in the Ararat region, the largest dental clinic in the city, where deviations from epidemic control measures have been documented.

The municipal administration of the smaller community of Vedi has also been inspected, with instructions given to immediately rectify certain observed violations. The AATC inspections indicate that violations of the norms established by the government to prevent the spread of the pandemic have significantly decreased, although they have not been entirely eliminated. Documented violations are reported to the authorities, and administrative accountability is inevitable in cases of their cumulative presence,” the statement concluded.
