Installing Gas Cylinders on Cars Will Become More Expensive: Marukyan
WRed
The installation of gas cylinders on vehicles in Armenia will become more expensive according to a draft law proposed by the government. This was stated by Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' parliamentary faction, on his Facebook page.
It is worth noting that according to the legislative package presented by the government:
- The requirement for mandatory certification of car gas cylinders will be established.
- The certification will be carried out by licensed private companies.
- The number of these companies, their regional distribution, and the cost of services will be left to the market (currently, this service costs between 10,000 and 15,000 AMD).
- The frequency of mandatory certification will be every 2-3 years.
- Cylinders that are not subject to certification must be replaced (the installation of a new cylinder currently costs between 200,000 and 900,000 AMD).
- Refueling uncertified gas cylinders will be prohibited.
- Essentially, the oversight of certified gas cylinders will be placed on gas stations.
While the importance of traffic safety cannot be underestimated, it must be noted that this package will clearly add a social burden on our citizens. The government must take this into account and propose solutions to mitigate the social consequences.
