41-Year-Old Yerevan Resident on the Run Found and Arrested

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed several circumstances surrounding the murder of a 44-year-old man following extensive investigative and procedural actions conducted by the Main Investigation Department for Particularly Important Cases.

According to the obtained data, a 41-year-old resident of Yerevan, on December 18, 2019, around 10:00 PM, fired a shot from a firearm he had taken with him unlawfully during a dispute over personal relations in front of his home on 2nd Street of Railway Workers in Yerevan, targeting the chest area of the 44-year-old man with the intent to unlawfully deprive him of life. Due to the critical bodily injuries, he died on the way to the hospital.

On December 19, 2019, based on sufficient evidence, a decision was made to involve the 41-year-old man as a suspect under Article 104 (Murder) and Article 235 (Illegal Acquisition, Sale, Storage, Transport, or Carrying of Weapons, Ammunition, Explosives, or Explosive Devices) of the RA Criminal Code.

On December 23 of the same year, a decision was made to apply pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint, and a search warrant was issued for him.

On September 8, 2020, the 41-year-old man, who had been on the run, was found and arrested the following day, September 9. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
