With the Implementation of the Electronic Database, Technical Inspection Certificates for Vehicles Will No Longer Exist

With the implementation of the electronic database, technical inspection certificates for vehicles will no longer be issued, said Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonian during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly.

“Regarding the pricing, the government has set a maximum fee of 8,000 drams and 2,500 drams for certificate refunds,” he added, noting that the relevant application must be submitted to the Public Services Regulatory Commission for the formation of the new pricing.

LHP faction MP Gevorg Gorgisyan inquired whether the number of technical inspection stations was sufficient. In response, Armen Simonian informed that currently there are 39 licensed stations, with about 50 lines available for vehicle inspections.

“An additional 10-15 stations will be needed. Regional distribution is also ensured,” he said, ruling out the possibility that vehicles from the regions will need to come to Yerevan for inspections.
