Strengthened Monitoring Activities of Bagratashen Border Health Control

The Bagratashen border sanitary and health control point of the Republic of Armenia’s Health and Labor Inspection Body is operating under a strengthened monitoring regime. This was reported by the Health and Labor Inspection Body.

With the easing of emergency restrictions and the start of the new academic year, there has been a sharp increase in passenger flow through this border crossing. Georgian Armenian students and Armenian citizens are returning from Georgia and Turkey, which has led to an intensification of monitoring activities.

To carry out these activities properly and efficiently, the checkpoint has been reinforced with additional personnel. Employees from other monitoring points, specifically Gogavan-Privilnoye and Ayrum-Jiliz, are joining the Bagratashen team on a shift basis.

The checkpoint is also responsible for inspecting the drivers of cargo vehicles and their passengers entering the territory of Armenia, through questioning, external examination for clinical symptoms characteristic of infectious diseases, and remote thermometer readings. Passengers are informed about the mandatory self-isolation requirements by being provided with notification forms; without completing and signing these forms, no person can enter the country.

The Health and Labor Inspection Body also provides individual protective equipment to individuals entering the country at its border control points.

Health control points have been operating under a strengthened monitoring regime since January 24.
