Record Number of Tests Conducted in One Day Due to Teacher Testing

Armenia has conducted a record 3,518 tests in the last 24 hours since the beginning of the pandemic. This substantial number of tests is also attributed to the testing of teachers ahead of the start of classes in schools.

In an interview with Armenpress, Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Minister of Health of Armenia, explained that the increase in the number of tests can be attributed in part to the teachers undergoing testing.

The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia reports that the largest number of tests conducted until now was 1,864, 1,038, 2,329, 2,166, 2,363, and 1,892 respectively.

"The increase in the number of tests is also due to the testing of teachers. They need to get tested before the classes start,” said the spokesperson.

The number of teachers tested daily depends on how many individuals visit the polyclinic for testing. There are teachers in the high-risk group who may not attend work. Testing for teachers will incur no financial costs, as it is free of charge.

Moreover, testing has also been underway for several days using tests produced in Armenia. At the same time, testing is being conducted for vulnerable groups, including individuals with chronic diseases.
