No such person exists whose neutralization would warrant a decision to merge the highest bodies, says Badasyan
There is no such person or group of people whose neutralization would justify a decision to merge the highest state bodies. This was stated by Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan during a conversation with reporters on September 8.
Badasyan responded to comments suggesting that authorities want to merge the Constitutional and the Court of Cassation to rid themselves of Hrayr Tovmasyan. “This is an ideological decision aimed at solving the problem of bringing the constitutional spirit into the judicial system. It is an institutional and far-reaching reform, made with the intent of continuing the series of changes in the judicial system for the citizens of Armenia and addressing strategic issues. I find it absurd to even consider such arguments,” the minister said.
He also noted that they plan to have the concept of the new Constitution ready by October, which will be presented for public discussion.
