Five Children from Khashtarak Transferred to Orphanage
According to ArmDaily.am, five children from a well-known family in the village of Khashtarak in the Tavush region, who were at the Muratsan hospital, have been transferred today to an orphanage.
Previously, in an interview with the media, the children's grandmother, Emma, had stated that after being discharged from the hospital, she would go home, but the children would be placed in an orphanage. “In this situation, I don’t want to go home; it’s better for them to be in an orphanage, and later they can be moved to our Ijevan ‘SOS’ Children’s Village,” she said.
It is worth reminding that in Tavush's Khashtarak village, a 58-year-old man had subjected his 4-year-old and 6-year-old grandchildren to brutal beating. The 6-year-old child died in the hospital. Today, we reported that the children’s mother had died at the Sevan Medical Center.
The other five children of the family were also taken to Muratsan hospital. Arsenic contamination was found in their blood.
In recent days, the children's grandfather was transferred to Armenia Medical Center, where arsenic was also discovered in his blood. Yesterday, his wife informed us that her husband had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
Additionally, the 57-year-old man has been charged under Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code (causing serious harm to health intentionally) and Article 119 (causing physical severe pain or mental severe suffering) of the RA Criminal Code, and he has been detained. His 28-year-old daughter has also been charged under Article 119 of the RA Criminal Code concerning torture involving two or more persons, of a minor or a person dependent on the offender materially or otherwise, as well as a person who has been abducted or held hostage. A petition has been filed with the court to apply detention as a preventive measure, which was not granted.
