When It Is Necessary to Protect and Prevent Clashes, Two Police Officers Are Considered Sufficient: MP

According to reports, last night, the security personnel hired by "Lydian Armenia" attacked and assaulted defenders of Amulsar. Eyewitnesses state that violence was also directed at a police officer. This was reported by Ani Samsonyan, a member of the National Assembly's "Enlightened Armenia" faction, on her Facebook page.

"I must mention that the day before, my colleague Gevorg Gorgisyan and I were in Amulsar, talking with the defenders. The Police of the Republic of Armenia was also on duty in the area, which is very necessary, but in front of the two on-duty police officers, there were 5-6 security personnel. I also want to note that private security staff recorded us throughout our stay there, which they did not have permission or right to do.

When it is necessary to detain citizens, the police gather sufficient forces, but when it is necessary to protect and prevent clashes, two police officers are considered sufficient. This is incorrect. The Police of the Republic of Armenia must objectively investigate all circumstances, and those responsible must be held accountable," she wrote.

It is worth reminding that earlier, activist Shirak Buniatyan, who is fighting against the operation of the Amulsar mine, published a video on his Facebook page, reporting that the security staff serving at Amulsar attacked the citizens on duty there and assaulted them.
