Three Individuals Arrested in Connection with Poisoning Incident in Armavir
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has charged three individuals in connection with a poisoning incident involving residents of Armavir city. This information was provided by the Committee’s Public Relations Department.
The preliminary investigation conducted by the Armavir Regional Investigation Department revealed that several residents of Armavir had purchased alcoholic beverages of unknown origin that did not meet safety requirements for consumer health and safety from a local resident, Ashot Landrush’s Hovsepyan.
Based on sufficient evidence, he has been charged under Part 2 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (preparing or selling counterfeit wine, counterfeit vodka, or other counterfeit alcoholic beverages for the purpose of sale). Two other individuals have also been charged under Article 38-207 of the Criminal Code (aiding in the preparation or sale of counterfeit wine, counterfeit vodka, or other counterfeit alcoholic beverages for the purpose of sale) under Part 2.
Preventive detention has been applied as a measure against them. The investigation is ongoing.
