Joint Tactical Exercises Begin Between Armenian and Russian Military Forces
Service members of the Southern Military District (SMD) stationed in Armenia have commenced joint battalion tactical exercises with the personnel of the Armenian Ministry of Defense. During these exercises, they are performing marches at the Kamkhud and Alagyaz training grounds.
Units from various divisions, including motorized infantry, tank, engineering, and reconnaissance, will execute defensive and offensive operations within reconnaissance-strike (fire) complexes, supported by artillery, air defense systems, operational-tactical and army aviation.
During the exercises and the fire engagement of the conditional enemy’s forces and means, the monitoring of the units' actions will be conducted by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) teams.
Throughout the exercises, the personnel will carry out verification exercises for vehicle and armored vehicle operations in both day and night settings, as well as combat firing with small arms, grenade launchers, and weapons from infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, artillery, and surface-to-air missile systems.
Approximately 1,000 servicemen from the SMD are participating in the joint battalion tactical exercises, utilizing around 300 units of military special equipment, including fighter jets, army and unmanned aviation.
