Plans to Change the Vehicle Inspection System

The Republic of Armenia is set to implement changes in the vehicle inspection process and introduce an electronic management system. This was stated by Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, at a press briefing by Armenpress.

“Drivers of vehicles up to 4 years old will not need to undergo an inspection. Vehicles up to 10 years old must be inspected every two years, while those that have been in use for more than 10 years will require an annual inspection. We plan to implement an electronic management system that will eliminate the need for stickers attached to windshields. These stickers often serve a formal purpose, as people can easily obtain them from banks today,” noted Simonyan.

According to him, under the new project, individuals will be required to go to the technical inspection stations. The Deputy Minister informed that the technical inspection will be as automated as possible, and it will be possible to track this process online. “By monitoring online, we will be able to avoid improper technical inspections,” Simonyan stated.
