Health Condition of 8 Citizens Affected by Alcohol Poisoning is Serious

As of September 4, 11 AM, 12 citizens who suffered from alcohol poisoning continue to receive treatment in various medical institutions across the country. The health status of 8 of them is assessed as serious, while 4 are in moderate condition. This information was revealed in a conversation with the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.

It is noted that recent incidents of alcohol poisoning have occurred in Yerevan, as well as in the Ararat and Kotayk regions. The Ministry of Health also reports that the likely source of the poisoning is the consumption of homemade spirits and medical alcohol. The Food Safety Inspection Body has already informed that a considerable quantity of methanol was detected in homemade alcohol sold in Ararat. In light of these unfortunate incidents, the ministry urges the public to refrain from using alcoholic beverages of unknown origin and non-factory production.
