State to Provide Students with Medical Masks and Disinfectants

In order to ensure the safe organization of the educational process in educational institutions, the Armenian government has allocated an additional 646,787,500 AMD from the budget for the month of September.

This decision was made during the government session today without prior reporting or discussion.

The project is initiated by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, which calculates that this funding will be used to equip educational institutions with disinfectants and three-layer medical masks.

The decision stipulates that medical masks will be provided not only for students but also for pedagogical and administrative staff.

The funding calculation for one month is based on the cost of a medical mask, valued at 25 AMD. Disinfectants are calculated at a price of 1,120 AMD per liter, based on a daily use of 3 ml per person, while the disinfectants for buildings are calculated at a rate of 3,500 AMD per kg of chlorine, with each institution receiving 1 kg of chlorine per day.

Prior to the adoption of the project, Armenian Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan stated that it had not been previously discussed and that the reserve fund of the state budget is currently overloaded. The minister proposed to approve the project but to discuss its financial aspects in a separate procedure before the final signing of the decision.
