Regional Hospitals in Armenia to Be Equipped with New Ambulances
The regional medical facilities in Armenia will receive 20 ambulances equipped with modern medical equipment. This decision was made during the regular session of the Armenian government today.
The First Deputy Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, while presenting the project, noted that the urgency of the decision is due to the pandemic situation in Armenia regarding the coronavirus. The ambulances being transferred to the regions are off-road vehicles, designed to navigate complex terrains.
“Within the framework of the funds envisaged by the state budget for 2020, 21 type ambulances have been procured and equipped with medical equipment and accessories,” said the deputy minister.
The acquired ambulances will be donated to regional hospitals with the mandatory condition that they be used for providing medical services to the population. The largest group of ambulances will be received by the Tavush region, which will get 5 vehicles, while Syunik will receive 3, and the other regions will receive 1-2 ambulances each.
