Proposed Quarantine Law Could Bind Us with Fines for Six Months, Anna Samsonyan

Anna Samsonyan, a member of the ‘Bright Armenia’ parliamentary faction, outlined what the law to be discussed in the National Assembly tomorrow entails. She specifically noted that this new quarantine law could bind us with fines for six months continuously.

Samsonyan's post includes the following:

“Tomorrow, a new quarantine law will be discussed that could bind all of us without pause with the following fines:

  1. Violation of special regime for entry and exit to the quarantine zone set by the decision on quarantine - 50,000 to 70,000 AMD.
  2. Violation of restrictions on the right of free movement of individuals or the movement of vehicles during quarantine, as well as obstructing inspection - 10,000 AMD.
  3. Violation of restrictions on certain types of economic activity and service provision during quarantine - 100,000 to 300,000 AMD.
  4. Repetition of acts specified in part 3 of this article within one year after the date of administrative penalty imposition will lead to a fine of 150,000 to 500,000 AMD.
  5. Violation of restrictions on organizing or holding gatherings during quarantine will lead to a fine of 50,000 to 200,000 AMD.
  6. Violation of restrictions on participation in gatherings during quarantine will lead to a fine of 10,000 AMD.
  7. Violation of restrictions and prohibitions on organizing, holding, or participating in public events during quarantine will lead to a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 AMD.
  8. Violation of restrictions on regular transportation during quarantine, as well as obstructing their inspection will lead to a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 AMD.
  9. Violation of isolation or self-isolation rules during quarantine will lead to a fine of 50,000 to 200,000 AMD.
  10. Violation of rules regarding the use of personal protective equipment during quarantine will lead to a fine of 10,000 AMD.
  11. Violation of measures and restrictions set by educational institutions during quarantine will lead to a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 AMD.
