Armenian Side is Definitely Taking Some Steps, Says Zareh Sinanyan to Citizens Looking to Travel to Russia
We are not implementing any functions of opening borders or decisions on whom Russia will let in. This was stated today, September 3, by Zareh Sinanyan, the Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, to citizens wishing to travel to the Russian Federation who were protesting in front of the Government.
"We do not have any authority to deal with this; there are relevant bodies that handle it. We are not negotiating; we are focused on Armenia-Diaspora relations. These citizens cannot return for objective reasons due to the pandemic. They should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the commandant’s office; we are not implementing any functions of opening borders or determining whom Russia will let in or not," said Sinanyan.
When asked whether the Armenian side has any actions regarding this issue, Zareh Sinanyan expressed confidence that the Armenian side is definitely taking some steps.
