Ankara has become Wuhan, says Turkish Professor
Professor Mustafa Cankurtaran from Hacettepe University in the Turkish capital Ankara has drawn attention to the rapidly increasing number of coronavirus cases in the city. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.
Professor Cankurtaran also mentioned that the capital of Turkey has turned into a Wuhan (the city in China where the coronavirus outbreak began and spread worldwide).
After preventive measures were taken against the coronavirus, a slight positive trend was observed in early June, and according to official data, there was a decrease in the number of patients. However, currently, there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of infections in certain regions of Turkey, particularly in the capital Ankara, where more than 2,000 new cases are recorded in just one day.
The hospitals are already completely filled, and if new cases continue at this pace, Turkey's healthcare system may face very serious problems. Professor Mustafa Cankurtaran believes that a restriction on going outside should be imposed for 10-14 days; otherwise, hospitals will no longer be able to serve the infected.
